Anyone for a glass of wine?

Evening everyone.  Sorry for the gap between entries, finding it hard to get internet access at some of theses hotels (Cheap anyway).  After leaving Quay West we headed back to Perth Airport (05:30, 4hr drive, in the dark, in the rain...avoiding the wildlife.  Worst drive of my life!)

Arrived into Adelaide and went to pick up our next little Hyundai.  Nice surprise...Europcar had upgraded the car to an Audi A3 1.8T (Very nice to drive along the Great Ocean Road!)

We had one night in Adelaide, one night in Robe, one night in Port Fairy and one night here in Apollo Bay.  We've had some amazing driving roads between Adelaide and Apollo Bay, taking in The Twelve Apostles.  Even though the weather was terrible, it was difficult not to be dumbstruck with views.  Sounds corny, but when you've seen it so many times in pictures, and it's now right there in front of you...it really was quite amazing.

We leave Apollo Bay tomorrow morning for what is promised to be the most stunning section of the Great Ocean Road (The road pretty much hugs the coastline all the way to Melbourne).

Margaret River Region - Cape Lodge

Hi guys! One our last night in Cape Lodge tonight. All six nights in this region were all paid for as part of a prize I won back in September 2008. Thinking it was worth the trip out to Australia House on a wet dark London night. Two hours training and a bit of luck have certainly paid off!

Cape Lodge has been voted in the top 100 small hotels in world and the Restaurant is in the top 10 in the world!  It's hell here.

Moving on to Quay West Resort - Bunker Bay - www.mirvachotels.com/quay-west-resort-bunker-bay

Just so you don't think it's all paradise, we've had loads of rain today and cool temperatures. It's gonna get colder as we progress.  Snow and ice in New Zealand...nice.

We hired a car from Perth Airport (3 1/2 hr drive after an 8hr flight...not so great).  Hyundai Accent, lovely in gold.  It looks terrible, but goes a lot better than I was expecting.  Auto box, but it's surprising quick...here's a photo - Car

One night in Hong Kong...

Well, here we go! 1st blog entry...this is all very new to me. Old dog, new tricks. Hong Kong was amazing. 1st day's weather was wet to say the least, but day two was 31 degrees and bright blue sky (A bit of a surprise, as the forecast was for heavy rain and thunder storms!). The Harbour Grand Hotel was stunning, only been open 2 days before we arrived and with just 10% occupancy there were more staff than guests! Have a look on their site - http://www.harbour-grand.com/

We managed to get up to Victoria Peak on day two, with stunning views of the harbour.

After just one night in H.Kong, we're now at Cape Lodge in the Margaret River region (Western Australia) http://www.capelodge.com.au/ . This place is just incredible! 6 Course meal last night...I've never eaten so much! Photos of Cape Lodge to follow, you lucky people ;-)

One day to go before the off...

Half a day at work and then it's off to Hong Kong!
